The Safe Journey Retreat encourages all attendees to be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19, as approved vaccines have been proven to be safe and effective against hospitalizations and deaths from COVID-19.

As of March 16, 2022, Kenya’s Ministry of Health announced all fully vaccinated passengers arriving in Kenya will be exempted from COVID-19 PCR testing. Full vaccination occurs two weeks after the second dose of a two-dose vaccine or one dose of a single-dose vaccine.

Unvaccinated travelers over the age of 5 years must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test 72 hours before departure. They will also be required to take a rapid antigen test at their own cost ($30) upon arrival. Any person who tests positive will have a PCR test administered at their own cost ($50) and self-isolate. The Safe Journey Retreat team will not cover or reimburse arrival testing costs.

The Safe Journey Retreat team will be facilitating PCR testing for attendees whose return flights require PCR tests, at no additional cost.

Vaccination and testing requirements are subject to change based on governmental requirements and safety guidelines.

As of March 16, 2022, Kenya’s Ministry of Health announced that masks are not required in public spaces, however, masks are encouraged for all indoor functions.

We encourage anyone who is more comfortable wearing a mask to do so at their own discretion.
